Every time I pass the Observatory, I'm amazed to think that it used to be a good site for observing the night sky. Seeing this old map makes it easier to understand how that was! (well, and remembering it was built before electric lights messed up viewing conditions...)

Now if I could just learn why so many Michigan cities have a "Division Street". What is it dividing??
